Renault Clio Cup's first race was held at Serres / Greece at 10-11 August. Serres circuit is a very fast circuit with it's 3,186km. length which is located in Selanik, near Bulgarian border.
Serres city got activited by the Clio Cup organization. The city's population is near 70 thousand and 630 km. near to İstanbul. The only circuit in Greece at this size is Serres and also hosting Toyota Yaris Cup and Seat Ibiza Cup. All the Clio's had Turkish and Grek flags on their bodies. This was an opportinity for friendship between Turkey & Greece.

At seeding laps, Marshal pilot Hakan Güven had the best lap time with 127,4 km/h average speed and 1.30.008 lap time. Ahmet Atay, Hakan tolon and Murat Doruk were behind him, seperating with 3-4 miliseconds. First 6 drivers were in a second.

Clio Cup started at 14:00. In the 7th lap, Selim Erol spinned and stopped inside the combine turns. The following driver, Kenan Dogulu couldn't escape and hit Selim Erol. By the affect of the hit Kenan did 4 somersaults and stopped upside down outside the circuit. After the accident, the race stopped by the red flag and Dogulu moved to a hospital for a check-up. After the controls, doctor's announced that Kenan's condition was OK.

Race took start with the classification at the 7th lap. Pilots raced 5 more laps an came to the finish line. Hakan Tolon gave a great defensive answer to the following pilot Ahmet Atay. After a mistakeless 5 laps, Hakan Tolon was the first winner at Clio Cup. Ahmet Atay second and Can Artam was the third driver. But, after the calculation of the total times at both first 7 and 5 lap times, the classification was made again. After the calculation, Hakan Güven was announced as third.
